Audio Sermons & Lectures: Submissions

Thirdmill accepts unsolicited audio submissions for publication. Submissions may be submitted electronically or on CD. For all submissions:

  1. The Recorded content itself should have at least fair audio quality, and should require no audio editing.
  2. Include the title of the audio recording, and short description of the audio recording, and the biblical text the audio recording is based on (if any).
  3. Include a brief biography of the speaker. If desired, also include a small (less than 200k) picture of the author in .jpg or .gif format.
  4. Include a statement granting Thirdmill permission to publish the audio file.
  5. Retain a copy of your audio files. Thirdmill and Lectures will not return submitted materials, whether or not we accept them for publication.

Electronic submissions should be emailed to jnally@thirdmill.org. Your email should contain the information listed above, as well as a link to your audio file (MP3 format is preferred).

CD submissions must be contained on an audio CD or data CD. Acceptable data CD file formats, in order of preference, include Waveform Audio (.wav), MP3 (.mpg), RealMedia (.rm) and RealAudio (.ra). The bit rate and frequency of the files should be as high as possible. Standard audio CD quality is 16 bits and 44.1 kHz. CD submissions should be mailed to:

Content Guidelines

Submissions may cover any subject that is relevant to Christianity.

Submissions must be compatible with Reformed theology. They need not be distinctively Reformed; evangelical submissions that are not hostile to the Reformed tradition are acceptable. Challenges to Reformed perspectives are also acceptable, so long as they are from "within the camp" (i.e., Reformed speakers critiquing the Reformed tradition).

Thirdmill has a strict policy of irenic speech. Inflammatory language, hostility, excessive anger, mocking, profanity, and the like may disqualify your submission. At times such language is justifiable, but we reserve the right to refuse submissions on the basis of tone, as well as to remove offensive tone and language in the editing process. Use your best judgment.

Copyright and Publishing

Thirdmill believes in giving copyright holders full rights over their materials. Authors/speakers and other copyright holders retain the copyrights over their submitted materials, and are free to publish elsewhere without obligation to Thirdmill. By submitting materials to Thirdmill, you represent that you have authority to assign publication rights for those materials. If at any time you wish to remove your published materials from Thirdmill's website(s), simply email your request to jnally@thirdmill.org and we will comply with your request.

Acceptance, Rejection and Notification

If you wish to be notified that Thirdmill has accepted or rejected your submission, please provide an email address with your submission. Normally, Thirdmill provides notification only by email. Notification of rejection may or may not be accompanied by an explanation for the rejection.

It often takes quite a while for us to review audio submissions. If you have requested but not received notification of acceptance or rejection after two months, you may email jnally@thirdmill.org.
