William Tate

William Tate has been Professor of English at Covenant College since 2007. He received a B.A. (1982) and an M.A. (1984) from Bob Jones University, an M.A. from Duke University (1986), and a Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (1996). His favorite theologians include Karl Barth, Herman Bavinck, Emil Brunner, Martin Bucer, John Calvin, Jonathan Edwards, John Frame, Colin Gunton, Lesslie Newbigin, William Perkins, Peter Martyr Vermigli, and Thomas F. Torrance. He is married to Patty, a semi-retired mathematics teacher, and they have four children
