Ric Rodeheaver (PhD, The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary) is a native of the Hawaiian Islands who has been living on the "mainland" since 1991. Moving to Los Angeles to establish himself in the music industry (translated: Ric wanted to become a rock-star) God dramatically changed his plans and in 1994 he enrolled in L.I.F.E. Bible College in San Dimas, CA. Upon graduation in 1998 with his B.A in Biblical languages, Ric went straight into seminary at Talbot School of Theology in La Mirada, CA. He graduated with honors in 2001 with his M.A in New Testament studies. Most recently Ric earned his PhD from "Southern Seminary" in 2017. Ric took his first pastorate in Columbia, Missouri for six years at Compass Evangelical Free Church. He then returned to Southern California to pastor at Grace Evangelical Free Church in La Mirada for seven years before he became the senior staff elder here at Christ Community Church in 2015. Along with his pastoral responsibilities at Christ Community Church Ric is also an adjunct professor of practical theology at Christ Bible Seminary in Nagoya Japan, a steering member of The Gospel Coalition, Orange county chapter and a member of the Evangelical Theological Society. Ric has a passion for preaching and pastoral ministry. He loves God's Word and desires to see the gospel transform people's lives. Ric gives thoughtful attention to the cultural context where he's ministering so that the gospel can be heard and understood. Ric is also a certified Biblical counselor with CCEF (the Christian Counseling and Educational Foundation) and has overseen counseling ministries in the past. Ric has been married to Lori since April of 2000 and they have three wonderful children together affectionately called "the A-team": Asher, Asa, and Anna.
