Answer
So, the first thing I think we have to ask is, do we believe in the inerrancy, infallibility of Scripture? Do we believe that Scripture is God-breathed, inspired by the Holy Spirit or is it just words written by men? If we believe in the inspiration, then we know and we can trust that everything that God says is real. Now again, we can have debates of old earth and young earth, but if we believe in creation, then we have to believe that there was one man and one woman. But we look in Genesis and it says, again, that God took from the dust of the earth, and he breathed ruach, life and a living soul into man, and then he fashioned woman from the side of man, and thus the creative process. Now, we can also look at what did Jesus say about creation? What did Paul, what did the New Testament say, because there's a references back to one man, to one blood, of a commonality of man coming from Adam and Eve. Now, there's even amongst some Christians, and I would use that term loosely, that Genesis 1 and 2 is a myth. Well, again, we have the reality that we believe and trust in God, that Adam and Eve were real, true, historical people.
