Should I fear time?

If one is a Christian then there is no need to fear time, as all things are working together for their good while on this earth (Rom. 8:28; 2 Cor. 6:2; cf. Jer. 29:11). We should be making the most of our time for the kingdom of God this side of glory (John 9:4; Rom. 13:11-12; Eph. 5:16-17; Col. 4:5-6; 1 Pet. 1:13; 4:7; 1 John 2:17), and our time here should not be lived in fear. However, because we’re human, there will still be moments of fear which give us opportunity to call out to the Rock of our salvation (Psa. 23:4; 31:15; 34:4; 94:19; Isa. 35:4; John 14:27; 2 Tim. 1:7). When our time here on this present earth passes away, we will immediately be with the Lord forever (2 Cor. 5:8). We will be in the new heavens and new earth on the last day and dwell there for eternity (Rev. 21-22). There need be no fear of time for the believer.

On the other hand, if one does not know Jesus Christ as Lord, then they should fear time, because their spent here on the earth is very short (Psa. 144:4; Jas. 4:14) compared with the rest of their existence that will be in an eternal, non-extinguishable hell (Matt. 25:46). Ultimately their fear is for all time because there always be another day in hell that does not cease.

Genuine wisdom teaches us that our days on earth are numbered (Psa. 90:12), so one prepares for eternity each and every day by preaching the gospel to themselves.
