Credit Hours / Degree Equivalent
The curriculum is designed to cover the content that would be taught over the course of 60 credit hours in a traditional seminary. This equates to a 2-year Master of Arts degree. Consisting of all the core courses of a 3-year Masters of Divinity program, the content is well suited for a biblical studies degree. In conjunction with practicum courses and labs, it also serves well as the basis for a Master of Divinity or a Master of Arts in theological studies. See the outline of courses for specific information regarding course parameters.
Third Millennium Ministries is not an educational institution. We do not conduct courses with students, and we do not offer degrees. If you are interested in academic credit or a degree program, you must coordinate the use of the Third Millennium curriculum with an educational institution such as Miami International Seminary (MINTS).
Multimedia Lesson Hours per Credit Hour
A typical credit hour in an accredited seminary consists of 15 classroom hours. Classroom hours, in turn, commonly consist of instruction, discussion, testing, breaks, etc.
Third Millennium Ministries' curriculum is designed to substitute for the classroom instruction hours. Each credit hour within the curriculum consists of 8 hours of multimedia lessons. Each multimedia hour contains 2 to 3 times the content of an average live lecture hour, rendering the equivalent of 20 hours of actual classroom instruction. Free study guides accompany each lesson, providing written assignments and facilitating discussion.
For Use with Accredited Degree Programs
The curriculum is designed for use by accredited institutions. All featured teachers are IIIM Reformed Seminary professors from fully accredited seminaries. The total multimedia hours are sufficient to qualify for the credit listed. For use in accredited settings, these lessons would typically be accompanied by written assignments, discussions and testing. Study guides that accompany multimedia lessons outline and facilitate assignments and discussions.
