Is Jehoram the father of Uzziah or of Ahaziah? (1 Chronicles 3:11 and Matthew 1:8)

1 Chronicles 3:11 Jehoram his son, Ahaziah his son, Joash his son,

Matthew 1:8 Asa the father of Jehoshaphat, Jehoshaphat the father of Jehoram, Jehoram the father of Uzziah.

In Hebrew, "begat" can mean father or grandfather, just as the word "son" may mean son or grandson. So, Ahaziah was the son of Joram and Uzziah was a grandson.

Matthew gives us an abbreviated genealogy of Christ. We see this throughout Scripture. Compare Ezra's own abbreviated genealogy in Ezra 7:1-5; 8:1-2 to 1 Chronicles 6:3-14. When we compare 1 Chronicles and Matthew, we see that there were three generations between Jehoram and Uzziah (Ahaziah).
