Who do you say Jesus is?

The short answer is that we believe Jesus is the only-begotten Son of God, the only mediator between God and man, and the only savior by which men may be saved. He is head of the church, heir of all things, creator of the world, and judge of the world.

He is fully human and fully divine, being both the second person of the Trinity and the man Jesus of Nazareth who was born of the virgin Mary. Both his human nature and his divine nature are forever united in one person.

He lived a perfect, sinless life, performed miracles, taught disciples, and suffered and died on the cross as a willing sacrifice for sins. He was buried and lay in the grave for three days, he rose from the dead, and he ascended into heaven. He now sits at the right hand of the Father, and intercedes for those who belong to him, who trust in him for salvation not on the basis of works, but on the basis of grace.
