Do all roads lead to the same place? Do they all lead to God? Can you supply a modern-day example? I need it to teach a class.

Jesus is not "a" way to God. He is "the" way and the only way (John 14:6). Some of the biblical reasons for this are covered in our answer entitled, "Is Jesus the ONLY WAY to Heaven?" below.

You asked for an example. Someone mentioned in passing the other day that they watched the movie, “Thelma and Louise.” Thelma Dickinson (played by Geena Davis) and Louise Sawyer (played by Susan Sarandon) became outlaws wanted for murder. In the story Thelma and Louise are finally cornered by the authorities approximately one hundred yards from the edge of the Grand Canyon. The two are faced with a decision: either surrender and face the consequences of their previous decisions or keep going. They decided to keep going. Louise steps on the gas of her 1966 Ford Thunderbird convertible, and they accelerate over the cliff.

Faith in Christ is not a leap off a cliff as it is with Buddha, Confucius, Mary Baker Eddy, Ron L. Hubbard, the Dalai Lama, Muhammad, Charles Taze Russell or Joseph Smith, etc. (see “List of False Religions?” below). And as with the road Thelma and Louise chose, all these many roads lead to death; except it's eternal death. Unlike the Arkansas State Police investigator, Hal Slocumb (played by Harvey Keitel), who is refused the last chance to talk the women into surrendering, Jesus renews the minds and hearts of those who are enabled to seek him. He is a soul and mind changer. And also unlike in the movie, if your path for facing the consequences of your sin is Christ, it doesn’t lead to an eternal prison, it gives life everlasting.

There is only one who can keep you off the proverbial cliff of destruction. He knows how to place your life in reverse and get you on the right road. Jesus is his name.
