Some Muslim scholars state that Habakkuk 3:3 refers to Mohammed coming from Paran (Arabia). Is this true?
Habakkuk 3:3 God came from Teman, the Holy One from Mount Paran. His glory covered the heavens and his praise filled the earth.
First, this verse speaks of God coming - not Muhammad (cf. Deut. 33:2). Second, the subject of the praise and glory is God - not Muhammad. Third, Teman is hundreds of miles away from Mecca.
The verse does not apply to Muhammad.
